One Direction Imagine You Get Hit by a Car

Preference #30-You Get Hurt (Niall)

Warning: Car accident, hit and run, hospital.

A/N: From what I figure (someone I used to be friends with was hit by a car), if a person is hit head on by a car, the force would cause them to then hit the windshield, and fall off to the side. In this case, the reader is hit by the bumper of the car (by the headlight), which causes her to then fall into the street.

You waited until the walk signed changed so you could walk, and stepped out into the street, heading towards the restaurant that you were meant to meet Niall for lunch. You smiled when you saw him, until the look on his face changed to one of worry. You heard the sound of a car, and then, silence.

Niall watched in horror, starting to run towards you, as the car ran the light and hit you. He watched in disbelief as the bumper of the car struck you, pushing you into the street. He watched as you fell to the ground, your head hitting the asphalt.

"Love!" Niall called, running towards you. He didn't want to touch you, worried that he'd exacerbate any injuries you might have.

"Love, please." Niall whispered, carefully pressing his shaking fingers to your neck, searching for a pulse. He finally found one, and breathed a sigh of relief.

"I've called 911," He heard a voice say, and quickly looked up, to see a young woman standing  next to him. "I've also written down the license plate, colour, make, and model of the car, as well as my contact information, if you need a witness."

"Thank you," Niall quietly said. He sat beside you, watching your chest slowly rise and fall. His eyes looked over your arms and legs, which were covered in scrapes. Niall heard the sound of the siren, the screaming noise coming closer and closer, until it arrived where you were. The EMT's stepped out, and hurried over towards the two of you.

"What happened?" One inquired, stopping beside Niall. The other two started to look over you, before carefully loading you onto a gurney and into the ambulance.

"Can I come along?" Niall asked.

"Yes," The EMT said, and Niall got into the front of the ambulance. The sirens started to wail again, and the ambulance sped towards the hospital. Niall watched, pale and silent, as they unloaded you from the ambulance and wheeled you into the hospital. He took a seat outside the room that they took you into, and waited. Hours passed, doctors came in and out of your room, until one came out and stood next to you.

"Mr. Horan?" She said, holding out your hand. "I'm Dr. Glenn."

"Dr. Glenn, hello," Niall murmured.

"Miss (Y/N) is doing well. She was very lucky. The wounds to her body are superficial, and, because the car didn't strike her head on, she only has a mild concussion. She should be waking up soon," She said. "We've given her some pain medication, so she might be a bit out of it and sleepy when she wakes up. I have to warn you, she may not have an memory of what happened. There's no need to remind her-the memory of it will most likely come back when she's ready."

"Thank you, Doctor. Can….can I go see her now?" Niall asked.

"You can. Call us if anything changes, and when she wakes up," Dr. Glenn replied.

"Thank you," Niall hastily said, going into your room. He took a seat beside your bed, and took your hand in his. Hours passed, and Niall started to worry that you'd never wake up.

"Niall?" You whispered.

"Love," Niall gasped, his eyes going to your face. "How do you feel?"

"Sleepy," You quietly said. "What happened?"

"There was an accident, love. But you're going to be okay," Niall replied.

"Why can't I remember?" You inquired.

"The doctor said that you might not, at first." Niall said, biting his lower lip. He called the nurse, and told her that you were awake. The doctor came in shortly afterwards, and checked you over.

"The nurse will be in shortly to check you out, and then you can go home," Dr. Glenn said. "She'll give you a list of what to watch out for, and if you see any of those signs, you need to bring her back immediately."

"Okay. Thank you, Dr. Glenn," Niall said. The nurse came in shortly afterwards, and checked you out. Niall wrote down what she told him to watch out for, and the two of you took a car home.
